New Deal For Macc Winger Mackreth

JACK MACKRETH has decided his future lies at – for at least another year.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder joined the Silkmen last summer and went on to make 40 appearances for them in what turned out to be a disappointing Conference Premier campaign.

His contributed only three goals in those 40 games but his all-round influence in the Macc side meant he was one player the club's coaching staff were particularly keen to hold on to.

Jack MackrethThe former Tranmere and winger has now put pen-to-paper on a deal keeping him at Field Mill, much to the delight of boss John Askey.

Askey told the club's website: “He's a player with a lot of ability and showed some real moments of brilliance last season.

“He's a good age and has a great attitude, so we're really happy to have got him signed up.

“The lad enjoys playing at the club, and has turned down more money elsewhere to stay with the club because he is buying in to what we are doing here.”
