have confirmed that boss Steve Kittrick will remain as manager for next season as the club prepare to return home.

The former and AFC Telford boss dropped down to Step 4 to take charge of the Seadogs in January 2016 following the departures of joint-bosses Bryan Hughes and Paul Foot.

After securing the club's status in the NPL Division One North, Athletic pushed on this season and finished third  before losing out in the play-off semi-finals to Ossett Town.

Despite that disappointment, Scarborough's board sat down with Kittrick and agreed that the boss would stay on for next term.

It's going to be a landmark campaign for the club as they prepare to return to the town and play at the brand new Scarborough Leisure Village.

Seadogs supporters will be hoping for another promotion tilt despite the club's playing budget remaining the same.

Chairman Trevor Bull said: “Last night I met with Steve Kittrick to discuss our plans for next season. I am pleased to announce the following outcomes from that meeting.

“Following the great work Steve did last year in turning us from a relegation threatened club to one with promotion potential a deal was agreed to keep Steve as our manager.

“Our playing budget was also agreed. This has been set at the same level as last season. I am aware that many of our fans were hoping for an increased budget once we arrived “home”.

“I can assure you that the agreed budget is a true reflection of what we believe to be affordable at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation as the season progresses.

“Steve is now in a position to start building his team for next season. I will be working closely with him over the summer months to ensure we have the best team possible for our first season back in Scarborough.”
