FA To Investigate Brawl That Hospitalised Three

THE Association are investigating a mass brawl that broke out at the NPL Division One North game between Borough and .

Three people were left injured and had to be taken to hospital following the scenes at Radcliffe's Stainton Park which delayed play for over ten minutes.

The incident happened at the side of the pitch and reports suggest that fans were involved after they attended the match following their own game's postponement.

Radcliffe fans were not involved in the brawl according to police. Lancaster went on to win the game 4-1.

The FA said: “We are aware of the incident and are now investigating.”

A police spokesman added: “Police are investigating reports of a brawl at a football match in Radcliffe.

“Officers were called to Radcliffe Borough's Stainton Park ground at about 4.40pm on Saturday 22 March 2014 following an incident involving several people at the side of the pitch.

“The Evo-Stik Division One North match between Radcliffe Borough and Lancaster City was stopped for around ten minutes.

“Three men were injured and were taken to hospital for treatment, but no arrests were made. Enquiries are ongoing.”

Footage of the incident has since been uploaded to Youtube with home officials trying to diffuse the situation.
