Salford City co-owner Gary Neville becomes Valencia boss

SALFORD CITY co-owner Gary Neville has been named the new head coach of Spanish giants Valencia.

The 40-year-old, who is also a coach with the English national team, has been given the job until the end of the season and joins brother, and fellow Salford co-owner Phil, who was already on the coaching staff at the Mestalla.

Valencia are owned by Singaporean Peter Lim, who is also a co-owner at Salford, so the duo have already worked together.

Neville, who alongside brother Phill, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Nicky Butt, bought the NPL Premier club last year, has given the Ammies a real publicity boost.

They were recently the subject of a BBC documentary and their first round game against was shown live on TV.

Their 2-0 win set up another home tie in the second round, against , and Salford will once again feature on BBC on Friday night.
