Andy Davies to go it alone at St Neots Town after joint-boss steps down

ANDY DAVIES will go it alone as manager of Southern Premier side after joint-boss Robbie O'Keefe stepped down.

Davies replaced David Batch in January and was joined in the Saints' dugout by Stevenage academy manager O'Keefe in May.

But O'Keefe has now departed Rowley Park due to a “family commitment” after not being at any of the club's opening league games.

Davies will continue as Saints boss after leading the club to three victories in their first five games, the latest a 2-0 victory at on Saturday.

Due to O'Keefe's departure, Lee Clarke will step up to become Davies' assistant manager while new addition Jason Dale will take over as first team coach.

A club statement read: “Robbie O'Keefe has contacted the club and has asked that due to a family commitment he will be unable to fulfill his role as joint first team manager of St Neots Town FC for the foreseeable future and as such Andy Davies will take sole responsibility of first team matters.

“Lee Clarke will assume the role of first team assistant manager while Jason Dale, who joined the club a few weeks back, will become the first team coach.”

Director of Iain Parr added: “We have been in contact with Robbie constantly over the last few weeks and were made aware quite early that Robbie had his hands full with a family issue.

“We have offered our full support and will continue to leave the door open for Robbie. We will continue to work with him in his capacity as Stevenage FC academy manager.”
