HAYES & YEADING UNITED hope to return to their new Beaconsfield Road home as soon as possible after being forced to temporarily move out while critical building work is completed.
United finally moved into their long-awaited new ground at the start of the season following five years of exile.
However, they will be playing Saturday's home game against Merthyr Town in the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier at Hendon's new Silver Jubilee Park.
Following discussions with the London Borough of Hillingdon, the Southern League and the Football Association, Hayes have agreed a short-term deal with Hendon so vital work can be carried out on their new home.
Various electrical items and other necessary amenities need to be completed before the authorities will be in a position to grant the relevant safety certificates needed to host football matches.
While the Merthyr game has been the only one confirmed to be played away from Beaconsfield Road, chairman Tony O'Driscoll says further matches may have to be moved if the work isn't done in time.
He said in a statement: “The club have to advise that their next round of home league and cup games will have to be played at alternative local stadiums. The club is fully aware of the disruption that this will cause to supporters, both home and away, during this period.
“Hayes & Yeading United would like to apologise for these disruptions, and will work tirelessly to make sure that the time spent away from our new home is both short and productive.
“The club would also like to thanks Hendon FC for agreeing to take on this game at short notice, as well as the Evo-Stik League Southern and the FA for their understanding during this disruption.”
