St Neots Town to search for new boss following Andy Davies’ resignation

ANDY DAVIES has resigned as boss of League Southern Premier side following a run of five games without a win.

Davies replaced David Batch in January and was joined in the Saints' dugout by Stevenage academy manager Robbie O'Keefe in May.

However, Davies was forced to go it alone at the end of August with O'Keefe stepping down due to a “family commitment” after missing the club's opening games of the season.

The Saints have struggled since then and Saturday's 3-0 defeat at leaves them in the bottom four after just one win in their past seven league games.

While he has quit as first team boss, Davies will remain at Rowley Park as academy manager, a role he held before taking the senior reins.

Director of Iain Parr said: “Andy Davies has informed the club that he wishes to tender his resignation as first team manager and reluctantly we have accepted.

“The club would like to go on record and thank Andy for all the hard work he has put into the first team both at the backend of last season and for the first half of this season.

“Andy will now concentrate all of his energy and wealth of knowledge on taking the Scholarship and Academy programmes forward for the foreseeable future.”
