Danny Nicholls Resigns As Boss Of Doomed Bedford Town

DANNY NICHOLLS has quit as manager of Calor League Premier after losing all 12 of his games in charge.

Nicholls, a former Bedford player, joined the Eagles just after New Year following Lee Bearman's departure on Boxing Day.

The club had lost six games in a row but that run has now been extended to 18 with the Eagles bottom of the table and a mammoth 24 points from safety.

They can officially be relegated to Step 4 on Tuesday night if get at least a point at Hungerford following Saturday's 2-1 defeat at St Albans.

Nicholls had previously managed , , and , but has left the Eagles along with assistant Alan Biley.

A club statement read: “Manager Danny Nicholls and assistant Alan Biley resigned over the weekend.

“This was because the club were unable to give them any assurances about their position as the management team for next season.”
