Spartans show form to upstage the Nash

BLYTH Spartans leaped above Curzon Ashton in the table with an impressive away win.
Curzon should have led when Blyth’s Jordan Watson missed the ball and Ben Wharton had only keeper Peter Jamieson to beat. But he stumbled and shot at Jamieson, with Watson carried off on a stretcher.
On 31 minutes, Curzon’s Max Leonard hit a snap shot from 22 yards which went just wide. Matthew Crothers was next to come close as his effort from a short corner was well saved.
