Colne introduce ‘Pay What You Want’ admission for Bootle game

promotion chasers are celebrating St George's Day on Saturday by allowing fans to pay what they like for admission.

The Reds, whose XLCR Stadium was recently passed fit for NPL , are second in the NWCL Premier behind but can go top if they win their game in hand.

They take on seventh placed on Saturday knowing a win is needed with only five games left of their season.

Over 550 people turned out to watch the recent top-of-the-table clash against Runcorn Linnets and the club are hoping for a similar turnout on Saturday.

Supporters attending the game will be asked to pay whatever they like – whether that be 1p, £10 or more – when they go through the turnstiles and Football League season ticket holders will receive a free pie, pint or soft drink.

With Burnley, , and all playing away from home, Colne are hoping East Lancashire turns out in force for the big game.

Manager Steven Cunningham said: “The fans' support has been brilliant this season and hopefully they'll turn up in their numbers again on Saturday.

“With Burnley playing on Friday night, hopefully a lot of local people can come down and watch honest, good quality football.

“To watch football for as little as 1p is a great initiative to turn up and hopefully everyone that turns up both new and old will enjoy the game.”
