TALENTED full-back Jack Truelove has joined Conference North side Colwyn Bay on a month's loan.

Truelove, 18, who is well thought of at Boundary Park, made his League debut for the Latics against at the age of just 17.

After being sidelined through injury last season, Truelove made a welcome return to first team action for the Latics against Blackburn Rovers in August, and further impressed during his month-long loan spell with , where he caught the eye of Seagulls boss Frank Sinclair.

Truelove joined the Welsh side on the morning of their third qualifying round fixture away to Stockport County on Saturday, but was unable to feature for the Seagulls due to his international clearance.

While the defender is reported to be on the cusp of first team affairs at Boundary Park, he welcomes his move to Llanelian Road in a bid to maintain match fitness and bolster his physical attributes prevalent in the Conference.

Truelove said: “I am looking forward to my loan spell at Colwyn Bay and working under Frank Sinclair.

“Frank has real footballing pedigree; having played for Chelsea, Leicester and Burnley, and I know that he is an advocate of getting the ball down and playing good football, which is what I'm used to at Oldham.

“I know that Colwyn Bay is an ambitious club, and was recently crowned the Conference North's Community Club of the Year, which I think speaks volumes about their vision and values for the future. For me personally, I look forward to being part of that vision and helping the club to push on.”

During his loan-spell at Llanelian Road, Truelove is expected to train with the Seagulls on Tuesdays and Thursdays; and with the Latics on Mondays and Fridays. He will also link up with former Latics' goalkeeper Josh Ollerenshaw, who spent two years at Boundary Park prior to signing for the Seagulls.

Truelove is expected to be officially unveiled to the Seagulls' faithful when the team travels to  on Saturday.
