ANDY LEESE isn't concerned with who his Chesham United side will face in the play-offs – but is anxious to get his team firing again.
The Generals had been on a 12 game winning streak up until they faced Poole Town last Thursday but find themselves coming into the final game of the season on the back of three consecutive defeats.
The 2-1 loss against champions Hemel Hempstead Town on Bank Holiday Monday was compounded by the previous two 1-0 defeats at home to Stourbridge and away to Poole, meaning Leese will be desperate for three points when Weymouth visit at the weekend, despite being guaranteed second place.
The Chesham boss told the NLP: “I'm not really worried who we play in the play-offs.
“It's more about us getting ourselves right again and getting that momentum back. We've had a chat; we'll take stock, re-group and go again.
“We can't just be playing out for time, we've got to get that momentum back so that when we go into the play-offs, we make sure we're back in the groove.”
Leese has been Chesham manager since 2007 and had brief spells at Boreham Wood and Wealdstone, but it was at Cheshunt where Leese flourished, guiding them to consecutive promotions to the Ryman Premier League.
It's that familiarity that gives Leese sureness his players can bounce back.
“We've got an experienced bunch in there with hundreds and thousands of games behind them and some real leadership,” he said.
“Those leaders and that experience has got to come to the fore. This bunch are fantastic and I'm backing them to get it right.”
