Hereford United Defeated By Turkish Giants In Bizarre Friendly

UNITED, who have until the end of the week to pay creditors or face expulsion from the , played against Turkish giants Besiktas yesterday while the Hereford United Supporters' Trust team also kicked off their ‘alternative fixture list'.

The Bulls, who are under a transfer embargo, took on Besiktas as part of their English pre-season tour at the West Riding FA's HQ in Leeds. The game was only announced shortly before kick off on the Hereford website.

The Turkish giants, who have won 13 league titles, are set to play Feyenoord in the Champions League third qualifying round and beat the Bulls side 6-0 on Monday night in a behind closed doors friendly that was streamed live on the Istanbul's side's website.

Closer to home, a Hereford Supporters' Trust Team, led by ex-Bulls management team Pete Beadle and assistant Steve Jenkins, lost 6-2 at Ledbury Town in front of a crowd of 654 in Herefordshire.

With 95 per cent of the Supporters' Trust voting to boycott games at Edgar , ex-players and staff set to feature in future games to show their support.
