Double Boost For Hereford United Ahead Of New Season

UNITED will begin the season in the Southern Premier after their place in the division was confirmed and their winding-up petition adjourned for a fourth time.

The Bulls were at the Royal Courts of Justice in London earlier today to hear the latest round of their winding-up petition brought by former boss Martin Foyle.

As expected, it was adjourned again with the club outlining plans to propose a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) to creditors. The club will be back in court on September 1 but will meet with creditors on August 15. It is understood the club plan to pay 100 pence in the pound over a three-year period.

The Bulls also received good news from the after a statement was issued saying the club had satisfied the League and were confirmed as members for next season.

This is despite some players including Rhys Evans, Dan Walker and Chris Sharp saying they are still yet to receive money they are owed.

United are set to kick off the new season at home to on August 9 with 95 per cent of the club's supporters' trust voting to boycott games while new owner Tommy Agombar remains at the helm.

Southern League chairman Ken Turner said in a statement: “Hereford United Club has transferred appropriate funds to all known football creditors apart from a few who have not, as yet, notified officials of their required details. However, the amount covering these outstanding payments has been deposited in the account of a third party.

“Consequently, subject to receiving confirmation of receipt of all the amounts transferred and also subject to any actions taken by other authorities outside the control of the League, Hereford United (1939) Ltd will remain in membership of the Southern League and the registrations embargo placed on the club on June 30 will be lifted.”

Despite having a transfer embargo placed upon them, Hereford were still able to sign up to 16 players and manager Jon Taylor told The on Friday that he had 15 already signed up.
