The club were founded as Hampton FC in 1921 and have come a long way since, rising to the second tier of Non- League. The anniversary has given an extra tinge of excitement to the coming campaign and McCann wants to build on the momentum.
The 36-year-old enjoyed an impressive career as a defender, having played in every professional league in England including spells at West Ham United, Coventry City, Bournemouth and Blackburn Rovers before joining the Clarets last year.
Having transitioned successfully into media and broadcasting work since hanging up his boots two years ago, the 40-year-old has plenty on his plate. But the chance to return to Dulwich Hamlet was one he couldn’t resist.
The vastly-experienced defender was a youngster at Charlton Athletic before moving into Non- League. He enjoyed spells at Eastleigh, East Thurrock United, Grays Athletic, Farnborough Town, Havant & Waterlooville and Macclesfield Town.
