VASTLY-EXPERIENCED manager Garry Wilson has taken over at Ryman Premier club Lewes.
Wilson is a familiar name in East Sussex having previously managed at Hastings and Eastbourne Borough.
He spent the best part of 13 years in charge of the latter, guiding them from the Sussex County League to the Conference Premier.
The 50-year-old Glaswegian left Priory Lane in January last year following an inconsistent start to the 2011/12 campaign but it wasn't long before he was appointed as assistant boss of Sports' neighbours, Eastbourne Town.
Wilson has now taken the reins at the Dripping Pan and his boss at Eastbourne Town – Danny Bloor – will work as his number two.
And Wilson says he envisages a very bright future for the Rooks.
Speaking to the club's website, Wilson said: “I am thrilled to be joining such a progressive club. It's going to be an exciting challenge and one we are all looking forward to.
“I've been mightily impressed with all I've seen and heard at the Dripping Pan and Danny and I cannot wait to get started.
“Initially, we are wanting to improve the league results markedly and we want people to have a smile on their faces when they come to work.
“With such superb facilities and a large and pro-active fan base, we are confident good things can be achieved here.
“I'm particularly pleased that Danny Bloor has joined me at Lewes FC and I know we will do all we can to ensure the traditions and history of this great club are maintained at the very highest levels.”
