AVELEY’S BIG DAY TAKEN BY MANOR

BOWERS & Pitsea spoiled the Parkside party as they overcame Aveley on the opening day.
Two goals from Lewis Manor and one from Fahad Nyanja saw off the hosts who had pulled the scoreline back to 2-1 through Jordan Peart.
After a dire first half, Nyanja put Bowers ahead in the 56th minute, heading in a cross.
Ten minutes later it was 2-0 to the away side as Manor scored the first of his two headers, this one from Tony Stokes’ cross.
