BASILDON were denied victory when Sam Carter grabbed an equaliser for East Thurrock.
Basildon started the game the better team and Callum Burkey went close to opening the scoring after only four minutes, but his effort hit a post.
The home side remained on top and had their chances, but couldn’t find a way through the East Thurrock defence as the first half ended goalless.
