■ CHIPSTEAD won their mid-table tussle with a solid performance yesterday. The home side’s opener arrived after 23 minutes – Ollie Hamstead’s free-kick from halfway was glanced goalwards by Kieran Lavery and in.
Thatcham were back on terms just before half-time when Clive Gwavava headed home a corner to make it 1-1. Seven minutes after the restart, Lavery was at it again – this time it was a free-kick from Jonathan Hood, which eluded the defence, but not Lavery’s head to make it 2-1.
