A CONTEST that promised much, and began brightly, finished in a sort of scrapping shapelessness as Eastbourne Borough – who had led since the ninth minute – clung on in the face of a St Albans City fightback.
Sports manager Adam Murray was blunt, and truthful. “Probably our worst performance of the season.
“I hated every minute.
“Our winner was a great goal, but then decision-making, energy and performances were awful!”
Borough had begun with purpose and they took a ninth-minute lead with a magnificent goal.
