■ FALMOUTH Town edged the first half of this fiercely contested encounter against their visitors from Gloucestershire, creating the clearer chances but failing to score thanks to determined Malvern defending, brave goalkeeping, and a few cruel deflections that refused to fall kindly for the home side.
The pattern continued after the break until Malvern finally struck in the 64th minute, capitalising on a corner when Sam Clark’s near-post flick was met at the far post by Luke Salter’s firm header.
