Dom Di Paola was left to rue a “missed opportunity” as Horsham’s Trophy dreams were ended by a Southend side eyeing a revisit to Wembley.
An early “horror show” from the Hornets saw their National League visitors go ahead inside two minutes through Keenan Appiah-Forson and Jack Bridge doubled the Shrimpers’ lead in the 15th minute.
