HEYBRIDGE Swifts find themselves a step closer to relegation after a home defeat to high-flying Waltham Abbey.
Failure to taste victory at Gorleston next Saturday and at home to league leaders Maldon and Tiptree on Easter Monday will see Swifts drop down to the next level.
A two-goal blast from Luke Deslandes sealed their fate at the First Call Community Stadium.
After a tight first half, it was Deslandes who opened the scoring five minutes before the break.
