NATHAN Ralph says FA Trophy prep has been the perfect antidote for their play-off heartache.
The Shrimpers finished sixth in the National League and hoped to go one better in the play-offs than last season’s promotion final defeat against Oldham Athletic.
But despite arriving into the knockout stages in red-hot form, they were narrowly beaten at Scunthorpe in the Eliminator.
The squad were given time off to digest the end of their league season but, according to Ralph, return motivated to still lift silverware at Wembley.
