After 102 minutes of National League football, Hartlepool United couldn’t find the bit of magic to boost their own promotion chances and stop struggling Maidenhead United from ending a six-match losing streak away from home.
Alan Devonshire’s Magpies set out to frustrate their hosts, but Hartlepool, who saw Louis Stephenson waste a big chance in the dying seconds, lacked that bit of quality to deliver the goal that would have aided their play-off assault.
