Marc-Antoine Fortune moves to Chesterfield

With one day remaining before the start of the season, promotion contenders have pulled off a major coup with the signing of former West Brom and Celtic striker Marc-Antoine Fortune.
The veteran striker brings a wealth of experience to the Protract Stadium having played in the top flight in England, Scotland, France and .
Antoine Fortune is probably best remembered among British fans for his spells with Celtic and West Brom.
The striker spent a productive season at Celtic Park during the 2009-10 campaign, where he fired 10 goals in 30 games to help the Bhoys to a 2nd place finish in the SPL.
Antoine Fortune's form for Celtic earned him a move to the Premier League with West Brom in the summer of 2010, where he made 63 appearances over a three year spell at the Hawthorns.
After leaving West Brom, the French Guiana went to represent the likes of Wigan, Doncaster and Coventry.
The forward spent last season with League One side Southend , where he found the net five times in 32 appearances.
Speaking to the club's official website, Chesterfield manager Martin Allen said, “He's a centre-forward who played over 30 games last season in League One. He has experience, hunger and desire and he will fit in perfectly well with all our squad.
“I've been tracking him for a good few weeks and I thought he was signing for a team in the league above, but last night he called me and we got a deal done. He left London this morning at 6am and he was up here to sign at 8.30.”
