Wrexham defender Manny Smith is a target for Football League clubs following a season that saw him named in the National League’s Team of the Year.
The 29-year-old is in the last year of his contract and it’s understood has yet to be offered a new deal.
A reunion with former Red Dragons boss Dean Keates at Walsall could be on the cards, while League Two side Cheltenham Town are also believed to be interested.
Centre-back Smith played 44 times for the Welsh club last season and was part of one of the division’s most miserly defences – form that saw him voted into the season’s top XI by National League managers.
He re-joined Wrexham last summer after a season at Gateshead and formed a strong partnership with Shaun Pearson.
New Wrexham boss Sam Ricketts watched his side kick off the new season with a win at Dover Athletic.
