Pay What You Want At Gloucester City Next Week

are hoping to boost the attendance at next Wednesday's league game with Colwyn Bay by running a one-off “pay what you want” scheme.

The Tigers are currently desperate to raise £25,000 by the end of the month to cover rent and expenses for their use of Cheltenham Town's Whaddon Road ground.

Should they fail to do so they face being evicted and left without a ground to play home matches at.

They hope by suspending normal admission prices for the Conference North fixture next week they will be able to entice a larger crowd and move closer to their target.

Commenting on the situation, Tigers chairman Nigel Hughes said:  “This is a gesture to the whole city and anyone who wishes to show support to the club at this trying time.

“Many may feel it is a major risk, as the club is already appealing to raise £25k to reach the end of the season in a solvent position; but we feel it is a risk worth taking. It will also indicate whether the club is truly valued or not.”
