Arnaud Mendy Joins Luton Town From Macclesfield Town

LUTON TOWN have signed central midfielder Arnaud Mendy from their Blue Square Bet Premier rivals .

Mendy joins the Hatters on loan with a view to making a permanent move once the transfer window reopens in January.

The 22-year-old began his career in France – the country of his birth – representing Rouen as a teenager prior to moving to Derby County in 2008.

He featured just once for the Rams' first team during his time at Pride Park and was eventually released in the summer of 2011.

Mendy then linked up with Macclesfield Town and went on to make 33 appearances for the Silkmen, scoring three times, including a goal of the season contender against Bolton in the FA Cup – http://goo.gl/3tKpL

The Frenchman has already notched twice in 14 matches for the Silkmen this term but will now focus his efforts on finding the back of the net for Luton.

Speaking about Mendy's arrival at Kenilworth Road, Luton boss Paul Buckle told the club's website: “He holds a great presence in the middle of the park, he can pass and shoot and isn't afraid to get stuck in.

“Arnaud is the kind of player who can get games by the scruff of the neck and make things happen. His range of passing his frightening.”

Meanwhile, Luton have also confirmed their midfielder John Paul Kissock will join Macclesfield Town on a permanent basis in January as part of the Mendy deal.

Kissock, 22, has spent the past three months on loan with Steve King's side.
