DARRELL CLARKE has left his position as manager of Salisbury City to become assistant boss at League Two club Bristol Rovers.
Clarke joined the Whites as a player in 2007 and was named their club captain ahead of the 2009/10 season by then-boss Tommy Widdrington.
The club were demoted from the Conference Premier to the Southern League at the end of that campaign and Widdrington consequently left, with Clarke stepping up to become joint caretaker manager with Mikey Harris.
A month later Clarke took the reins on a permanent basis and has since enjoyed a great deal of success at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium.
The Whites secured promotion via the play-offs in his first campaign in charge and the following year the club made it to the Third Round of the FA Cup for the first time in their history.
A tenth-place Conference South finish in 2011/12 was followed up by a second-place finish last term and Clarke's side managed to conquer Chelmsford City and Dover Athletic in the play-offs to secure Step 1 football once more.
However, Clarke won't be with the Whites for their return to Non-League's table, instead opting to move to the Memorial Stadium with Bristol Rovers.
Paying tribute to his contribution while with the club, Salisbury chairman William Harrison-Allan said: “Darrell's record speaks for itself and he has delivered on his promises.
“I would personally and publicly like to thank him for his dedication to the club.”
