Millers recover to go second

AVELEY moved up to second when they recovered from a poor start with a quickfire double either side of half-time, to consign Wingate & Finchley to the bottom of the early table.
Wingate’s Loic Hernandez opened the scoring in the 12th minute when he was sent clear down the left and fired an accurate low daisy-cutter into the bottom right corner.
Ten minutes later Freddie Hinds sent a thundering volley inches wide of the left post from 30 yards.
