Bromley boss Andy Woodman is backing his former striker Ali Al-Hamadi to impress on the World Cup stage – just as he did on loan at the then-National League Ravens.
The 24-year-old Ipswich Town forward has been picked in Iraq’s squad for this summer’s tournament.
That was no great surprise after he scored the opener in the 2-1 inter-confederation playoff final victory against Bolivia in Mexico at the end of March which took Iraq to their first World Cup finals in 40 years.
But just four years ago Al-Hamadi was turning out on loan for Bromley in Non-League’s top flight.
