It was a point gained, not two dropped, as York City and Southend United cancelled one another out in the National League’s big-hitter last night.
A game of two halves for both teams had Southend in control for the first 45, before York took centre stage in the second to rescue a late point in front of a crowd of over 7,000 at the LNER.
Harry Cardwell’s 31st-minute effort finally beat City goalkeeper Harrison Male, who had kept his side alive up until that point.
