York City had the National League title snatched from their grasp despite the full-time whistle already blowing in North Yorkshire, setting up a winner-takes-all, final-day showdown against Rochdale on Saturday.
Having comfortably beaten Yeovil Town 3-0 at a packed-out LNER Community Stadium, staff and players huddled on the pitch, waiting for the final whistle to blow down in Essex, with Braintree Town holding Rochdale to a 1-1 draw.
