LEAGUE leaders Tamworth strengthened their title challenge with an efficient and workmanlike display against a battling but ultimately outclassed Hitchin side.
If Tamworth had a problem it was a curious inability to convert their many chances. Hitchin’s opportunities were restricted and frustratingly wasted.
As the first half progressed the visitors won an inordinate number of corners which called on the virtuosity of Hitchin goalkeeper Charlie Horlock and his defence.
