WESTFIELDS have announced that Joe Rawle, who was part of boss Sean Edwards' management team, has left to join local rivals Hereford as club scout.
Rawle had been with the Midland League Premier side for six years after his spell as manager of Malvern Town, who were playing in the Southern League Central at the time.
He has worked alongside Edwards, Darren Lynch and Nathan Rivers to oversee the development of the first team at Step 5.
As a player, Rawle was a prolific scorer for Ledbury Town, Malvern Town and Evesham United and has had managerial and assistant managerial roles at Evesham, Malvern and Westfields.
However, he is now moving on after agreeing the switch to Edgar Street to become a club scout for Hereford, who are top of the Midland League Premier after reforming in the summer.
Westfields chief executive Andy Morris said: “Joey has been a tremendously loyal person to the club over the past six years and has played an important part within the club and the progression made by our Midland Football League team.
“We wish him every success at Hereford where we are sure that he will do an excellent job scouting for them. Joe knows the Midland scene, knows lots of players, managers and clubs generally in the Midland League and indeed in the Southern League and higher from our exploits in the FA Cup and FA Vase over the past six years.”
