CAMBRIDGE UNITED have signed Fleetwood Town goalkeeper Chris Maxwell on loan until January.
Maxwell is an experienced stopper at Conference level, having spent four years at Wrexham between 2008 and 2012.
He made over 80 appearances for them during that time and his performances for the Welsh outfit earned him a move to the Football League with Fleetwood last summer.
However, he is yet to feature for the Cod Army’s first team and has agreed a move away to get some game time under his belt.
Speaking about his arrival at the Abbey, U’s director of football Jez George said: “In agreeing a long term loan for Chris we have a goalkeeper of undoubted ability and a proven track record in this league over a number of games.
“He is highly rated and we are absolutely delighted to have acquired his services at least until the January transfer window.”
