CAPTAIN Russell Canderton scored a late winner as Ashford Town ran out slim victors away to Aylesbury United.
Poor weather conditions in the first half saw the game run at a very slow tempo, with both sides having few chances apart from the goals scored.
The hosts broke the deadlock on ten minutes through Lea Coulter, before Mark Bitmead equalised with a rebound after his first chance was well saved by the keeper.
The second half saw Ashford press higher, with the Aylesbury goalkeeper making good short-range saves in the final 15 minutes of the game.
