POLICE PROBE MASS BRAWL

CCTV footage of a mass brawl before the end of Shildon’s 2-0 home win over North Shields is being examined by police.
Around 60 people were said to have been involved in the fracas during the Northern League Division One game at Dean Street last Saturday.
Fourteen police officers attended the ground, but no arrests were made.
Witnesses said that the trouble flared after two men began fighting ten minutes before the end of the game, and others joined in.
A spokesman for Durham Police said that an investigation into the incident was ongoing.
