BANBURY UNITED’S play-off push remains on track as they overcame a stubborn and committed Cinderford Town side to emerge with the points from a sun-baked Causeway.
Conor McDonagh tested Foresters keeper Giles Cutlan early on, but the hosts responded with Craig Norman and Dan Clare efforts tipped over by away stopper Jack Harding.
On 15 minutes, Luke Carnell’s header from a corner found its way into the net to put the Puritans ahead.
Carnell got on the end of a Tom Winters’ free-kick, but the Foresters keeper saved well.
