ALLOTMENT: COUNTY FA BURIED US

WEST Allotment Celtic have resigned from the top flight of the Ebac Northern League – claiming that their local county FA has priced them out of business.
The Northumberland FA, who own Celtic’s Whitley Park in Benton, and whose offices overlook the ground, have imposed a 67 per cent recent increase to £7,500 a year.
That means a cost of £300 a game instead of the present £300, at a time when the village club have been hit by falling attendances, with an average gate of only 88 this season.
