A COUPLE of weeks ago, I was privileged to visit the new state-of-the-art stadium at Melksham, the Oakfield Stadium. We arrived late afternoon just to take a look and we were gobsmacked.
It left me wondering why, if a small town like Melksham can build a £7 million sports arena, why can’t a big town like Basingstoke do something to help its well-supported football club?
