STOCKSBRIDGE Park Steels suffered an opening day home loss as they stuttered to an untimely defeat against Spalding United.
Stocksbridge secured the win thanks to goals in either half as they started the game like an express train and retained control and possession.
Spalding were the first side to strike as Cenk Acar gave his side a 20th minute lead.
