CLEETHORPES made a superb start to their first season in the league with a comfortable win over Gresley.
However, they were helped by a lacklustre performance and poor defending by the visitors.
An own goal gave the Owls the lead on 35 minutes which they then doubled on 41 minutes as Matt Bloomer neatly headed home a free kick. Nine minutes into the second half Gresley were back in the game as Jon Stevenson curled his shot home.
