NORTH SHIELDS’ poor start to the new season conti n - ued as they followed up their FA Cup exit against Marske United with a 1-0 loss at home to Ryhope CW.
The Robins, who finished runners- up in the top division to rivals South Shields last season, were beaten by Thomas Bott’s 13th-minute strike.
Ryhope started brightly and got their reward as Bott fired past Robins keeper Kyle Hayes.
