Shamsi stunner keeps Puritans top

SUBSTITUTE Ravi Shamsi scored a sensational overhead kick to keep Banbury top of the table with a slender win over Bishop’s Stortford.
Banbury’s first chance came from a Tom Winters corner, but Luke Carnell headed just wide of the post.
Winters then went on a great solo run down the left, with him getting to the byline only for his cross to be deflected behind for a corner after 21 minutes.
The Bishops came close on 24 minutes when Afolabi Akinyemi sent in a crosscome- shot which went just wide of the far post.
