ATHERSLEY RECREATION have sacked their management team after a poor start to their North West Counties Premier season.
The Penguins were lying in 17th place with just four points from six league games when the board made the decision on Monday.
Wayne Thompson had been with the club for two years while his assistant Nev Hunt joined at the start of the season.
President Peter Goodlad has taken charge of an interim basis with first team coach Kevan Locke as his assistant until a permanent appointment is made.
