WARRINGTON Town moved up to second place in the Premier Division table with a gritty win at Barwell.
The first half was a battle of chess with Jamie McDonald having the best of Warrington’s chances on 11 minutes when his shot across goal smashed against the base of the post and rolled away to safety. Barwell immediately countered but Jake Heath’s long-range effort flew over the bar.
Neither team were able to get a tough enough grasp on the game and no side was in control of this tense match, where one goal always looked likely to be the deciding factor.
