EVESHAM were desperate to return to winning ways but were unable to do so despite starting well. Yate Town looked happy to sit back and soak up any pressure, hoping to hit Evesham on the break.
And that’s just what they did in the 32nd minute when Ben Brooks tapped the ball into Evesham’s net with Kevin Sawyer stranded.
The home side continued to pile on the pressure and finished the half stronger. Several superb saves from Harvey Rivers in the Yate goal kept the visitors in front until the 84th minute.
