CHARLIE Ruff ’s dismissal proved costly for Hertford Town as they were beaten by Maldon & Tiptree.
Ruff gave the home side the lead inside three minutes, but Oluwole Akinsanya levelled proceedings soon after.
And Maldon completed the turnaround when Josh Pollard found the net midway through the first half, before Ruff was shown red for an offthe- ball incident.
Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe made it 3-1 in first-half stoppage time. Michael Toner’s late penalty proved to be just a consolation.
